Llyn Crafnant Reservoir, Snowdonia

Llyn Crafnant is a three-quarter-mile-long reservoir in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. It used to be much longer; there is evidence of hundreds of years of silting at the southern end of the lake. The name comes from an old Welsh word for garlic, "craf" - and "nant", meaning stream or valley. Garlic still flowers in the valley every spring and summer. The photos below were taken in autumn 2012.
