Braşov, Transylvania
Council Square and the Towers
Alleyway leading from Council Square

Erm...yes, the black tower looks more white than black. I've read different accounts of the origination of the name; one that it's due to the black roof, and another that it's because the walls were blackened after a fire caused by a lightning strike. Both towers were built in the 15th Century and are alongside Strada Dupa Ziduri.

The White Tower can be seen toward the centre of the photo with Council Square just beneath, and the Black Tower to the left. And there are the city walls in the foreground at the base of the trees.

Council Square (Piata Sfatului) is Braşov's main square. As well as building the hostel, the guy who owned the hostel I stayed at in Braşov built Council Square's fountain too. He was quite matter-of-fact about it but I thought it was awesome!

Graveyards and Darkness
It's a graveyard
where the graves nestle right next to house roofs
